About

As of January 2024, Suzanne has been attending the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design (NSCAD University) in Halifax,  NS where she is set to receive her BFA in Jewellery Design and Metalsmithing.

She previously graduated with honours from the Studio Jewellery and Small Object Design program at the Kootenay School of the Arts in Nelson, BC. For almost fifteen years after graduation she owned and operated a retail shop that featured other Canadian jewellery designers while she focused on the creation of custom jewellery and repairs.

She has
also completed various courses from the Alberta College of Art and Design, obtained a Diamond Essentials certificate from the Gemological Institute of America and in 2022 a stone setting certificate from Blain Lewis' New Approach School for Jewellers in Tennessee, USA.

Before transferring to NSCAD, she was creating one-of-a-kind and limited production work from her home studio in a small town of 800 in Southwestern Ontario.

Sculpturally based, her work is created using traditional goldsmithing techniques and is often inspired by literary devices and the human mind and emotions. Suzanne enjoys combinging found objects with high-end stone settings and the freedom of experimenting within her work
which allows her to solve the technical challenges that it brings.
