Suzanne Spisani

Owner & Goldsmith

Suzanne Spisani.JPG

For almost 20 years I have owned and operated my own shop creating ready-made and custom jewellery and offering repairs. More recently, I opened a quaint 98sq ft studio and showroom in historic downtown Windsor, NS where I continue to offer a variety of services revolving around unique design and quality artistry.

Sculpturally based, my work is created using traditional goldsmithing techniques including hand fabrication and hand engraving combined with the latest technology; microscopic stone-setting and hand engraving with neumatic tools. My work is a result of the freedom of exploration within the materials and is inspired by the human experience, sentiment and patterns found in nature. Over the years I have been honing my craft and offer handcrafted jewellery in gold, silver and platinum. Together my husband and I work between our two studios, the shop and studio at 17 Gerrish St. where you can find myself and our off-site studio where Andrew, an engineer by trade, does our CAD, 3D printing, Casting and Photography.

In the winter of 2023, my husband and I moved to his home province where I have been continuing my education and immersing myself into the art community. Since moving to Nova Scotia I have been attending NSCAD in Halifax, NS where I have been working part-time to receive by BFA in Jewellery Design and Metalsmithing with the goal of eventually teaching. I previously graduated with honours from the Studio Jewellery and Small Object Design program at the Kootenay School of the Arts in Nelson, BC. I have also completed various courses from the Alberta College of Art and Design, obtained a Diamond Essentials certificate from the Gemological Institute of America and a stone-setting certificate from Blain Lewis' New Approach School for Jewellers in Tennessee. Most recently I completed a hand engraving course at NSCAD and have spent endless hours at the bench with a neumatic tool creating wedding rings, pendants and other sentimental pieces for custom clients.

I look forward to working with you,

Suzanne Spisani
